It all started
Back in 2008. A guy was sitting at home after a big night working behind a bar in Melbourne. He and his housemate (who was a stand-up comedian and had also had a late night) decided the only answer to getting themselves up for the day was by getting a pizza. However, neither was keen to pick-up the phone to call their local pizza joint. After 4 rounds of rock paper scissor, they both admitted defeat and together dialled the number and picked up the phone… It was engaged! Devastated they collapsed back into the couch with their finger on redial.

The moment came
After 30 mins with no answer the comedian looked to the other and said, "if only we could order through a website, then we wouldn’t have to wait for the line to be free or speak to anyone." (not the funniest line he’s ever had).

And there it was, the moment, you know that moment people speak of, that flashing of light, that moment of pure silence where everything moves in slow motion and then snap, awake, back to "Yes! I’ll do it, I’ll make them a website we can order though, I’ll start a company and it will build websites for pizza shops all over the country, pizza shops all over the world and we’ll call it ZWIFT!" (Well, the name was chosen later on, but let’s roll with it).

Zwift was born
And then the hard work began… Focus group testing, business models analysed and scrutinised, go to market strategies and testing commenced, everything to ensure that Zwift’s system and services were the best available for independent Retailers to grow their business online.

And then Zwift grew up
From the initial focus of providing the best online ordering system to hospitality restaurants, Zwift evolved to a business that has the tools and knowledge to grow any retail business online. With a design team who work with the business to design and build their own customised website to a marketing team dedicated to making their business a success, to ordering web apps available for Android and iPhones.
